What Makes a Sales Champion

Seven years ago, I heard my daughter’s good friend planned to ride her bike from Vermont to Seattle. For the sake of this story, we’ll call her ‘She’. My first reaction was: Is She crazy? Vermont to Seattle, really? I was a bit late to the game when I found this out, but I knew She didn’t have much support. Fresh out of college and very independent with little support doesn’t typically have the resources to make the HUGE journey.

I sponsored She with some logo athletic wear, a sign for her bike to look official, and several care packages along the way. Lots of texts were exchanged for changing shipping addresses dependent on She’s schedule. I guess it depended on how many hills She had to climb, the weather, the average miles per day, and many other things you might imagine.

It’s seven years later, and She is doing wonderful. She got her dream job that didn’t pay enough to make ends meet. A hard lesson for all of us at some point. She went back to school while she worked. Now She has her absolute dream job.
